Sengers to Compile, Edit Forthcoming Book
Distinguished University Professor Emeritus and former ChBE Chair Jan V. Sengers will be part of a team set to compile and edit Applied Thermodynamics of Fluids, the eighth book in the Experimental Thermodynamics series. The book was proposed by the International Association of Chemical Thermodynamics (IACT), and endorsed by the Physical and Biophysical Chemistry Division of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). The book will cover the measurement and correlation of thermodynamic and transport properties of substances, and will include chapters written by internationally recognized experts in the field.
Applied Thermodynamics of Fluids will be a revision of Equations of State for Fluids and Fluid Mixtures, an earlier volume in the Experimental Thermodynamics series, which Sengers also edited.
The book will be published by the Royal Society of Chemistry in late 2009.
