About
The University of Maryland, College Park student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) was founded in 1940 and serves as a central hub for undergraduate students in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
AIChE @ UMD provides a strong network that connects students with peers, faculty, alumni, and industry professionals. Through a wide range of academic, professional, and social programming, our organization supports student growth beyond the classroom setting. We host internship and career talks with professors and social events such as our semesterly AIChE formal to cultivate our community. We offer a Peer Mentorship Program for students to receive academic and career guidance from upperclassmen. We also compete at the regional and national levels annually with our Chem-E-Car team, which is a separate entity within our department, and undergraduate researchers for poster presentations. Our goal is to create a one stop shop for networking, career resources, service, peer mentorship, undergraduate research opportunities, and fun.
All chemical and biomolecular engineering undergraduates are automatically members and are encouraged to actively participate in our chapter endeavors.
