ChBE Alumna Publishes Book: Elements of Ethics for Physical Scientists

Sandra C. Greer – professor emerita of chemical and biomolecular engineering at the University of Maryland (UMD) and also professor emerita of chemistry at Mills College – has recently published a book, entitled, Elements of Ethics for Physical Scientists.  The book focuses on the daily decisions about right and wrong faced by scientists during research, interaction with colleagues and how their work affects society.  Greer hopes to nurture readers’ ethical intelligence so that they can identify an ethical issue when confronted with one, and offers an approach to managing ethical issues.
