Fisher Wins Electrochemical Society Travel Award

Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE) graduate student Aaron Fisher, advised by Fischell Department of Bioengineering professor Peter Kofinas, has received a travel award from the Electrochemical Society's (ECS) Battery Division. The award, which will help fund Fisher's trip to the 2012 Pacific Rim Meeting on Electrochemical and Solid-State Science (ECS/PRiME) in Honolulu, Hawaii, in October, also includes a one-year student membership in the society. Fisher will be presenting his work on block copolymer battery electrolytes at the event.

He also won complimentary registration for the conference at the University of Maryland Student Chapter of the ECS's first annual poster contest, where he took first place for a presentation titled "Lithiated Block Copolymer Electrolytes with Ionic Liquids for Batteries."
