UMD Professor Paul Albertus and his research team develops physics-based models, carries out experiments on electrochemical cells and components, and creates innovations for electrochemical energy technologies, such as solid-state batteries, alkaline electrolysis and electrochemical technologies for deep decarbonization. Their current projects are funded by the BIRD Foundation, DOE Basic Energy Sciences and DOE ARPA-E.
