James P. Byers, B.S. '84
James P. Byers, B.S. '84, died September 27, 2007 at the age of 46 in Toledo, Ohio. Byers was an associate professor of pharmacology at the University of Toledo, where he had been on the faculty for eight years. He was known for his work in pharmacokinetics, the study of how the body absorbs, distributes, metabolizes, and excretes drugs; and also his research on diabetes and gene therapy. Byers was considered a demanding but exceptional teacher by his colleagues and students.
