Engineering Solutions to Biomedical Problems Symposium
Thursday, October 10, 2019
10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Discovery Auditorium, BioPark II, 800 W. Baltimore St., Baltimore, MD
The Fischell Department of Bioengineering at the University of Maryland, College Park, and the Department of Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine are co-sponsoring a symposium on "Engineering Solutions to Biomedical Problems: Understanding Clinical Needs and Bioengineering Innovations."
We are currently seeking speakers and contributors from the A. James Clark School of Engineering and all UMSOM departments, centers, institutes and programs. In particular, we are seeking physicians with a specific medical or surgical need that requires an engineering solution, or engineers with novel technologies that may be well-positioned for solving medical conundrums.
The symposium will take place on Thursday, October 10th, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Discovery Auditorium, BioPark II, 800 W. Baltimore St., Baltimore, MD at the University of Maryland, Baltimore campus.
The symposium format will consist of a series of “problem” or “solution” presentations, each 15 min in length, followed by time for discussion. As this symposium will focus on information sharing and networking, we encourage all interested faculty, fellows, students, and postdocs to attend.
If you wish to have your research and ideas considered for presentation, please submit your title and a brief description (250 words or less) of your ideas to Drs. John Fisher (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Jonathan Bromberg (email@example.com). Please submit by September 10th.
