Choi Serves on International Workshop Committee

Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE) professor Kyu Yong Choi was a member of the scientific committee behind the 2013 DECHEMA (Deutsch Chemical Society) International Workshop on Polymer Reaction Engineering (PRE) held in Hamburg, Germany in May. Choi, who has been a member of the committee for over a decade, helped guide the event's theme and core scientific programs.

Held every three years, the PRE Workshop highlights the most up-to-date practical applications and discoveries in polymer reaction engineering, a broad field affecting many industries. The workshop promotes the design of safe, efficient and economical catalysts and process technologies used to create and customize polymer-based products.

In August, Choi will represent the U.S. at the 9th World Congress of Chemical Engineering and will coordinate the chemical engineering program at the 2013 U.S.-Korea Conference, the largest science and technology conference hosted by the Korean Scientist and Engineers Association of America.
