P&G’s purpose is to provide branded products and services of superior quality and value that improve the lives of the world’s consumers, now and for generations to come. We are committed to improving people’s lives with innovation that delivers irresistible performance and is more sustainable. We are working to reduce our own footprint, enable people to reduce their footprint when using our products, and develop solutions that will help our industry or other sectors reduce their footprint. Research and development is a key part of creating products that consumers love. Following a brief presentation, this session will focus on discussing topics related to the innovation process, cross-category innovation, and the role of technologies like AI, ML, and automation in advancing the innovation process.

Bio: Matthew Wagner is a Director of New Technology and Product Development at P&G. He received his BE in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, and his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington. Wagner was a postdoctoral fellow for NIST, and has been with P&G since 2004. Wagner specializes in managing upstream technology and processes, with an emphasis placed on the integration of AI/ML models as well as sustainability.
